1. Confirm what the factory actually makes

Many suppliers present themselves as manufacturers while they are really trading companies. Trading companies can be useful, but if you want control over materials, tooling and timelines you need to know who runs the production line. Ask which processes happen in-house and which are outsourced.

2. Check range breadth and category fit

3. Understand MOQ before you negotiate

A stock design in a standard colour usually allows a lower MOQ than a fully custom product that needs new tooling or fabric dyeing. 4. Always approve samples before bulk production

Never place a bulk order on photos alone. A pre-production sample confirms size, stitching, filling, materials, colour and packaging. 5. Ask how quality is controlled
